Man arrested for fatal stabbing in Irving confessed to police, affidavit says

A 44-year-old man charged with murder in connection with a stabbing in Irving last week was observed beating his victim before he died and later confessed to the murder to police, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

Yunier Aldazabal was arrested on July 1 after Sucel Cuba Gomez, 42, was found stabbed to death in a parking lot in the 3100 block of West Walnut Hill Lane early that morning. Emergency responders pronounced Gomez dead, according to the affidavit.
