Philadelphia Phillies probable pitchers and starting lineups vs. Atlanta Braves, July 7

The Philadelphia Phillies (58-31) and Atlanta Braves (48-39) will close out their series Sunday at Truist Park after splitting the first two games. The deciding game will decide whether the Phillies leave town with a 10.0 or 8.0 game lead in the division.

After scoring eight runs in the Apple TV+ series opener Friday, the batters failed to score much Saturday night against Braves rookie Spencer Schwellenbach, falling 5-1. Phillies starter Ranger Suárez stumbled again, allowing five runs on six hits in five innings and making his second straight start allowing five or more runs.

Sunday’s finale will pit Phillies rookie Michael Mercado against a Braves lineup that has started to show some strength of late. If Mercado can keep the Phillies in this game, hopefully the offense can provide some support.
