FIR against teacher for alleged sexual harassment of three-year-old

Bengaluru: Bengaluru police have booked a teacher at a private kindergarten for allegedly sexually abusing a three-year-old girl.

The KG Halli police filed a complaint against the teacher under the Prevention of Sexual Assault on Children (Pocso) Act following a complaint by the girl’s father. Even before the complaint, the hospital had issued a circular on the case.

According to police, the girl complained of stomach pain on Wednesday evening, after which her parents took her to the hospital. When doctors asked the parents during the examination if they had noticed anything unusual, they said the girl had blood stains on her underwear.

Therefore, the hospital treated the case as a medical-legal case.

“The hospital sent a notice and later the father filed a complaint on Thursday. We have taken up the case and started an investigation,” an investigator told DH.

When the child was asked about the abuse, she nodded and said the teacher’s name. The girl’s father then filed a complaint against the teacher.

The arrest has not yet been made because the police have not yet conducted a preliminary investigation. The investigator quoted above said that there is some suspicion in this case, so before making the arrest they will try to clarify the facts and then proceed with the arrest procedure.
