Man in critical condition after shooting in southwest Philadelphia, police say – NBC10 Philadelphia

Philadelphia police are investigating after a man was left for dead after being shot in the neck in southwest Philadelphia on Tuesday night.

According to police, officers responded to the 2200 block of South 63rd Street around 11:35 p.m. on Tuesday and found a 56-year-old man lying on the ground unconscious and bleeding from his head.

After investigations, it emerged that the man had been shot in the neck, police said.

The injured man was taken to a nearby hospital, where authorities said he was in critical condition.

As of Wednesday, around 10:45 a.m., police did not release any further information about what might have led to the shooting.

No arrests have been made yet, but investigations into the incident are ongoing, police officials said.
