Milwaukee County coroner identifies Slinger man shot and killed by officers

The Milwaukee County coroner identified the man shot by sheriff’s deputies Sunday as Steven A. Wyman of Slinger. The Milwaukee County Sheriff said the 47-year-old was wanted for child abuse. Sheriff Denita Ball said Slinger police alerted law enforcement that they were looking for a suspect who was armed and had made a suicide threat from an officer. According to Ball, around 8:30 p.m., Germantown officers spotted a van with the suspect inside and a speeding chase began, reaching 100 miles per hour. The driver stopped on Highway 145, ran away and was spotted a short time later near 108th Street and Good Hope Road, Ball said.
