Third suspect arrested in Carencro High School bus massacre

CARENCRO, La. (KLFY) – The third suspect in the Shooting on Carencro High School school bus was arrested.

Show records Da’Marion Roy, 19, has a two-year criminal record. Roy is also charged with a misdemeanor related to the Carencro Carnival. About a month before the school bus shooting, Roy was arrested in January during a carnival parade. The police chief says they received calls about an armed person.

“They gave us a description of the clothing and Mr. Roy fit that description and officers observed him attempting to conceal a weapon on his person as he passed through the crowd on the parade route. When they attempted to speak to him, he ran and threw the weapon away. They were able to arrest him in the street off University Avenue,” said Carencro Police Chief David Anderson.

Roy also faces a charge of attempted second-degree murder, accusing him of attempting to kill a human being, effective October 2023. “It’s disturbing to see so many young people today choosing that path, and here is a young man who took a life and all but lost his life,” the police chief said.
