The U.S. Department of Justice sends this information as published below:

OKLAHOMA-CITY – SAI KUMAR KURREMULA, a 31-year-old Indian national living in Edmond on an immigrant visa, pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of three children and transportation of child pornography, U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester announced.

On April 22, 2024, Kurremula was charged by Information with sexual exploitation of children and transportation of child pornography. According to an affidavit in support of a criminal complaint, in October 2023, the FBI began investigating an account on the social media messaging app Snapchat where a user was sexually exploiting underage girls. The IP address used to create the account led federal authorities to Kurremula. Public documents allege Kurremula sexually exploited several minors through Snapchat, often posing as a 13- to 15-year-old boy to gain his victims’ trust. When victims refused his requests, Kurremula manipulated, threatened, and blackmailed his victims into producing even more child pornography.

Today, Kurremula pleaded guilty and admitted to sexually exploiting three minor victims and knowingly transporting images of child pornography. Specifically, Kurremula admitted that in order to get the minor victims to cooperate, he threatened Jane Doe #1 that he would drive to her home and show her parents sexually explicit images of her; threatened Jane Doe #2 that he would come to her home and shoot her family; and threatened Jane Doe #3 that he would publicly post sexually explicit images and videos of her.

At sentencing, Kurremula faces a minimum sentence of 15 years and up to 50 years in federal prison, probation for a minimum of five years and up to life, fines of up to $250,000, special levies of up to $55,100 on the first count and up to $40,100 on the second count, and a victim restitution order.

This case is the result of an investigation by the FBI’s Oklahoma City Field Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth Joynes is prosecuting.
