Air Quality Alert in Ohio

CLEVELAND (WJW) — A Air quality alarm Extremely cold drizzle was forecast for parts of northeast Ohio, the National Weather Service reported.

The warning is in effect Sunday morning from midnight for Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake Lorain, Medina, Portage and Summit counties.

The National Weather Service recommends that sensitive groups, including children, the elderly and people who already have respiratory problems, avoid being outdoors.

The poor air quality is due to increased concentrations of ground-level ozone and comes as the FOX 8 weather team predicts temperatures will rise to over 30 degrees starting Monday.

  • Drive less. Walk, cycle or use public transport instead.
  • Do not let the engine idle. Turn the engine off.
  • Fill up your tank after sunset
  • Wait to mow the lawn
