Matt Riddle suffers concussion after accident with his Uber

Matt Riddle will not participate in his scheduled indie matches this weekend.

Riddle was scheduled to appear for Northeast Wrestling in Connecticut on Friday and North Shore Pro Wrestling in Quebec on Saturday. However, this afternoon he tweeted that he will not be able to attend either event. According to Riddle, his Uber had an accident on the way to the airport. He mentioned that he suffered a concussion and some minor injuries, but assured fans that he will be fine.

“Just wanted to let everyone know that I will not be at the shows tonight and tomorrow. Unfortunately my Uber crashed on the way to the airport and I had to go to the hospital to get checked out,” he wrote. “I have a concussion, a few bumps and bruises but I’m going to be OK. #seatbelt”

Riddle was scheduled to face Brad Hollister tonight at Northeast Wrestling’s Over the Top event in Woodbridge, Connecticut. He was also scheduled to face Zak Patterson on Saturday at North Shore Pro Wrestling’s Golden Opportunity show in Quebec City, Canada.

In September 2023, Riddle was released from WWE following an incident at JFK Airport in New York City. This came during a series of roster cuts after WWE was acquired by Endeavor.

Riddle recently won MLW Battle Riot VI, securing a future bout against MLW World Heavyweight Champion Satoshi Kojima. He also spent 40 days as NJPW World Television Champion earlier this year.
