Broad River Greenway temporarily closed due to possible drowning accident

BOILING SPRINGS, NC (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The Broad River Greenway is temporarily closed following a possible drowning accident Saturday, greenway officials confirmed.

Rescue teams were on the Greenway conducting a search and rescue operation on Saturday, June 8. Officials say the Greenway will remain closed to ensure public safety and allow emergency responders to work uninterrupted.

“We understand that the Greenway is a valued community space and this closure may cause inconvenience. However, the safety of our visitors and the effectiveness of rescue efforts are our top priority,” Broad River Greenway officials said.

Queen City News reached out to the Boiling Springs Fire Department for details but did not receive responses due to the ongoing investigation.
