Teen stabbed and arrested in attempted gang robbery in Santa Rosa, police say – NBC Bay Area

An apparent case of self-defense led to the arrest of a 15-year-old boy who was stabbed during an attempted robbery by gang members in Santa Rosa on Friday, police said.

The incident occurred around 3:05 p.m. Friday at the Santa Rosa Transit Mall, police said.

Investigators found that the 15-year-old, a 17-year-old youth and a 19-year-old man were at the transit mall to intentionally rob a 24-year-old man, police said.

When the 24-year-old was attacked, he defended himself with a 10-centimeter-long kitchen knife, police said. According to Santa Rosa police, the 15-year-old was stabbed in the arm and at least twice in the upper body.

The stabbed teenager is expected to survive the incident. He was later arrested by officers. He and the other two teenagers were charged with attempted robbery and gang membership, police said.
