Georgetown County officials arrest man during shooting investigation

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC) – The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office said officers arrested a person Friday who attempted to flee the scene of an ongoing investigation.

Officers responded to the 500 block of Player Street in the Greentown neighborhood around 1 p.m. to investigate the reported shooting, sheriff’s spokesman Jason Lesley said.

There is no information on whether anyone was injured.

Officials have not yet released the name of the person arrested or whether they intend to file charges.
