Shock in Uttar Pradesh: Headmaster arrested for raping 15-year-old student in Kaushambi; accused flees

Police have booked a school principal for the alleged rape of a minor student and formed teams to arrest him. The complaint was filed on Thursday, June 6, after an alleged video of the incident went viral on social media platforms.

“We have booked DK Mishra (40), the principal of a private school, for raping a 15-year-old student of the school,” Sirathu Circle Officer (CO) Avdesh Kumar Vishwakarma told news agency PTI.

Based on the complaint, the police arrested the accused under Section 376 (rape) and relevant sections of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act at Kokhraj police station of the district.

The alleged incident occurred in April, according to police. “The girl was allegedly threatened by the accused not to tell anyone about the incident. However, the family members came to know about it when the video of the incident was posted online,” the officer said.

“Teams have been formed to arrest the accused, who is currently absconding,” the CO added.
