2 injured, 1 dead in three-car crash in York County

YORK COUNTY, SC (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash on Highway 274 in York County Wednesday afternoon.

At around 1 p.m., police were called to the scene of a three-car accident 3 miles south of Clover, SC.


According to the press release, a 2007 Lexus sedan was traveling northbound and a 2015 Chrysler sedan was traveling southbound when they veered left of center and struck the Lexus. The Chrysler struck another vehicle, a 2006 Ford coupe, causing it to leave the road and strike an embankment.

Both drivers of the Lexus and the Chrysler were injured and taken to hospital by emergency services. The passenger of the Lexus was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The occupants of the Ford Coupé were not injured.

The investigation is currently ongoing. There is no information yet about the condition of the injured or whether charges will be brought against the driver of the Chrysler.
