Canandaigua rapist Alexander Kise sentenced to 35 years in prison

ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) — A Canandaigua man who held a woman against her will and sexually assaulted her for two days in 2022 was sentenced Friday to 35 years in prison and 20 years of probation upon release.

Alexander Kise, 21, met the woman through social media, according to prosecutors. He was found guilty in March of two counts of first-degree rape, two counts of third-degree rape, one count of third-degree sexual abuse, one count of first-degree false imprisonment, two counts of second-degree false imprisonment, two counts of first-degree coercion, two counts of fourth-degree illegal possession of a weapon and two counts of second-degree menacing.

“Today, a young woman who chose to stand up to Alexander Kise and say no finally saw the result of her courage. Alexander Kise always got his way. When he didn’t, he resorted to violence and coercion to get what he wanted,” said Kelly Wolford, Assistant District Attorney for the Ontario District Attorney’s Office. “35 years in prison plus 20 years of probation upon release is necessary to ensure the safety of our victim and her family, as well as the community as a whole.”

Kise also faces charges including murder, conspiracy and drug offenses for allegedly plotting to murder the lead prosecutor and the judge who decided on his rape conviction.

Kise’s girlfriend, 22-year-old Alydia Gater, allegedly met with an undercover detective in a parking lot in Victor on April 21 to negotiate a deal for the murder. Investigators said Gater paid for the murder with Xanax.

A 16-year-old was also charged with the murder plot, but no further details about this suspect were released due to her age.
