Man sets fire to Florida Publix; police investigate

PLANT CITY, Florida. — Plant City police are investigating what caused a man to be set on fire at a Publix supermarket, News4JAX sister station WKMG reported.

Police said they received a call around 6:35 p.m. Wednesday about a 30-year-old man caught fire at a store on James L. Redman Parkway in Plant City.

People in the store tried to put out the flames.

Plant City Fire Department took the man to a nearby hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

There is no information about how the man caught fire in the store.

The Investigative and Forensic Services Division also conducts investigations.
