Winnemucca police ask for help in case of man found dead on street

WINNEMUCCA, Nev. (KOLO) – A California man was found dead on a north Winnemucca street Saturday, Winnemucca police said Wednesday.

The man was hit by a vehicle. However, the police have not yet been able to determine whether the accident was the cause of death.

Police said they were called to the intersection of East Winnemucca Boulevard and Reinhart Street in the early hours of Saturday morning and found a man dead in the street.

He was identified as Frank Cambra of California. Cambra was struck by a vehicle, but police do not know if he died from the impact or why he was lying on the road. Police found the vehicle a short distance away and said the driver was cooperating.

Police are asking anyone in the Winnemucca area between 1:00 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. on May 25 who may have seen something to call police at 775-623-6396.
