Delano man charged with murder in Tulare killing

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – A Delano man was arrested on murder charges in connection with a homicide after the victim was found in a Tulare home, police said.

Tulare police said officers were called to a home in the 700 block of South R Street shortly after midnight Wednesday for reports of suspicious circumstances.

Police said when officers arrived, they found two men in the driveway of the home. Police identified them as Steven Elizondo, 26, of Delano, and Sakuma Lockhard, 48, of Tulare. Officers said the two appeared nervous and had blood on their clothing.

Investigators said a victim was found in the home and was “apparently a homicide victim,” and Elizondo and Lockhard are believed to have been involved. The victim was identified by police as Travis Womack, 48, of Tulare.

Police said the two men were arrested and charged with murder and conspiracy. The murder case is currently under investigation.
