Buffalo Wild Wings Take Shot at Red Lobster as It Announces Wings Deal – NBC 7 San Diego

Buffalo Wild Wings serves all-you-can-eat wings with a side of shade.

The restaurant announced its new promotion in a social media post last week, including a caption that appeared to troll Red Lobster amid the seafood chain’s bankruptcy filing.

Buffalo Wild Wings posted an image offering unlimited boneless wings and fries to restaurant customers for $19.99 on Mondays and Wednesdays. The caption pleaded: “Please don’t bankrupt us.”

Red Lobster made a similar bottomless deal with its $20 Endless Shrimp deal that backfired after the long-running promotion was made permanent in 2023.

While the all-you-can-eat shrimp deal led to increased traffic at his restaurants, it led to millions in losses because it was too popular and too cheap. It became a contributing factor to the troubled company’s bankruptcy filing Monday. The chain has reportedly been mulling a Chapter 11 filing since April as it searched for a buyer and closed nearly 50 restaurants in more than 20 states.

Buffalo Wild Wings is taking steps with its all-you-can-eat offering to avoid a similar fate of underfunded overconsumption.

The limited-time all-you-can-eat offer is for boneless wings only, as opposed to more expensive bone-in wings whose price can fluctuate. Offer is limited to one person per order and cannot be shared.

And don’t even think about packing up those leftover wings to take home, because that’s a no-go.
