Couple arrested for stealing $654 in merchandise from Walmart in Buffalo Ridge

Two men have been arrested in connection with the theft of $654 worth of merchandise from Walmart at Buffalo Ridge Plaza in The Villages.

Matthew Allan Kibbey, 39, of Summerfield, left the store Monday afternoon with the merchandise and got into a car driven by Anthony Francis Arenas, 40, of Belleview, according to an arrest report from the County Sheriff’s Office. Sumter County.

Kibbey was also in possession of a glass pipe containing methamphetamine residue. The Providence, RI native was arrested on charges of theft and possession of drug equipment. He was held without bail at the Sumter County Detention Center because he had been released on bond after being arrested in February with non-prescription Viagra.

Arenas, who had previously been banned from Walmart, was arrested for trespassing. He was also in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was taken into custody and released after posting $1,500 bail. Arenas was arrested last year at a car wash in Lady Lake.
