Doctor accused of sexually assaulting patient and released from Miss. prison

MISSOULA – We’re learning more information about the case of a local doctor who was accused of sexually harassing patients at Community Medical Center of Missoula.

Dr. Tyler Hurst appeared in court on May 10 and pleaded not guilty to one count of sexual intercourse without consent, one count of sexual assault and two misdemeanor sexual assault charges.

Dr. Hurst appeared virtually from a behavioral health and addiction facility in Mississippi. Judge Shane Vannatta ordered that Dr. Hurst must turn himself in to authorities in Mississippi within seven days.

MTN spoke with authorities in Mississippi who confirmed that Dr. Hurst turned himself in Wednesday morning and was booked and released to the behavioral health facility.

Dr. Hurst is currently at the treatment center in Mississippi, but when he returns to Montana he will be subject to GPS monitoring.

Dr. Hurst was employed by a local medical group that contracted with CMC, which revoked his clinical privileges.

The next court date in this case is scheduled for June 6, 2024.
