Man gets 20 years in prison for sexually assaulting 11-year-old boy in Rajasthan

Kota, Rajasthan:

A POCSO court in Baran on Tuesday sentenced a man to 20 years in prison for committing unnatural sex with an 11-year-old boy three years ago, a court official said.

Judge Sonia Beniwal of POCSO Court 2 convicted Bittu alias Brijesh of Baran City for the crime involving a boy in his neighborhood and was fined Rs 52,000, public prosecutor Harinarayan Singh said.

On August 24, 2021, the boy’s maternal grandmother lodged a complaint at the Baran town police station, alleging that Bittu alias Brijesh had sodomized her grandson earlier that day, Singh said.

The boy was on his way to a biscuit shop when Bittu forcibly took him to a secluded place where he beat him up and had unnatural sex with him, the PP said.

Bittu was booked and arrested under Sections 377, 442 and 323 of the IPC and sections of the POCSO Act.
