1 dead, 1 arrested after accident on Winchester Road

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) A vehicle accident Friday evening resulted in a Lexington man being transported to a local hospital where he ultimately died.

Lexington police said officers were dispatched to the area of ​​the 3400 block of Winchester Road around 11 p.m. Friday in response to a vehicle collision that left one of the drivers allegedly involved critically injured.


Authorities said another person, who was not named, was arrested by officers at the scene on a charge of driving under the influence.

The Fayette County coroner issued a news release Saturday saying 54-year-old Billy Williamson died at the University of Kentucky Medical Center as a result of multiple blunt force injuries.

The coroner said the collision was being investigated as an accident.
