Mother’s Day weekend brings beautiful weather with mild temperatures

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – It’s going to be a great weekend to spend some time outside with mom as high pressure means plenty of sunshine and temperatures will mostly be above average. The only hiccup in our forecast could come Sunday afternoon as a front slides down from the northwest. This could trigger an isolated shower or thunderstorm somewhere in western Wisconsin, but most locations will likely remain dry

Today will be nice for outdoor activities as the sun will prevail and some cumulus clouds will form in the afternoon due to the peak heat of the day. Winds will be northwest at 7-13 mph in the Chippewa Valley, with our high this afternoon in the low 70s.

Tomorrow will be even warmer for Mother’s Day with a fresh west-southwest wind and quite a bit of sun. In most places, temperatures will likely reach the 80-degree mark for the first time this year before cooling back to average earlier this week. While the forecast is largely dry in the short term, a weather system could head our way mid-week and the chance of rain could return as temperatures remain seasonal.
