Highgate man arrested after using gun in Burlington

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Police say a Highgate man was arrested after pointing a firearm at someone.

Our team filmed police officers with guns drawn arresting 40-year-old Jason Douglas in the Burlington Police Department parking lot.

Police were notified that a man, later identified as Douglas, pointed a firearm at someone near Church and King Streets around 1:00 p.m.

We don’t know why Douglas ended up at the station. The police only told us that they conducted a high-risk stop and that he was taken into custody.

They assume that a charge of reckless endangerment is to be expected.
