Suspect arrested in fatal shooting in East Charlotte, Virginia – Queen City News

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A suspect in a fatal shooting in East Charlotte has been arrested in Virginia, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Friday.

Officers responded to calls about the incident near 6200 Upas Lane in east Charlotte on Friday, April 12, around 5 p.m. Justin Caracha-Soto, 21, was found with gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene. Further investigation turned the death investigation into a murder investigation, and investigators were able to identify 23-year-old Alejandro Sequeira as the suspect. Sequeira was in Virginia and was arrested Thursday, CMPD said.


He has been charged with murder and is awaiting extradition to Charlotte.

A violent crimes apprehension team and the FBI offices in Washington assisted in the operations.
