A woman who had been banned from visiting an Ocala Walmart was arrested last week after she returned to the store in search of a specific carton of Diet Pepsi, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said.

Kathleen Hagan, 65, was arrested on a charge of trespassing following the incident, which allegedly occurred at Walmart on Bahia Avenue on July 25. A records check revealed a warrant was out for Hagan’s arrest for failure to appear on a charge of petty shoplifting, the agency added.

According to an affidavit, Hagan visited Walmart on July 25 despite being issued a trespassing citation in May. Officials said she was “aware” of the citation.

“Hagan claimed she didn’t think she would get caught and that Walmart had the exact carton of Diet Pepsi she liked,” the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said.

Officers acknowledged the trespassing alert and took Hagan into custody. She remains in the Marion County Jail without bail, according to online jail records.
