Oregon State Police officers arrested a man following an incident at the Cabin Creek rest area at mile marker 143 off Interstate 5.

According to an OSP report, 42-year-old Jason Hall broke into a parked semi-trailer with an axe. Hall was attacked by two truck drivers and eventually trapped in the trailer before breaking out through the roof. The suspect then entered his own vehicle and ran over one of the truck drivers as well as the semi-trailer.

Hall’s vehicle was broken down and the man jumped into a Good Samaritan’s vehicle where he was eventually apprehended by police. Hall was taken into custody without incident.

The report states the injured truck driver and Hall were both taken to CHI Mercy Medical Center with injuries. Hall has been charged with several offenses, including assault, two counts of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, reckless driving and reckless endangerment. According to OSP, he was still at Mercy at last check and will be transported to jail once he is medically evaluated.
