Warning day: Heavy storms tonight

Showers and thunderstorms will pass through this evening, some of which could be heavy.

OF PEOPLE ARE IN TOWN FOR THE FIRST DAY OF THE RNC. MARK, COULD THE WEATHER AFFECT THE CONVENTION HERE AT THE FISERV FORUM? THE ONLY WAY IT COULD AFFECT THINGS INSIDE A FIRE SERVER IS IF THERE WAS A REALLY BAD, SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING WHERE YOU WANT TO EVACUATE PEOPLE, OR A TORNADO WARNING. I THINK EVERYONE INSIDE FISERV IS FINE. EVERYONE ELSE IS. THEY’LL BE OUTSIDE. AND THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE IN TOWN. AND SO I WANT EVERYONE TO PAY VERY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE WEATHER AS WE MOVE THROUGH TONIGHT. AND TO THOSE OF YOU WATCHING, YOU’VE NEVER BEEN TO MILWAUKEE. WAIT UNTIL YOU CAN ENJOY THE REST OF THIS WEEK, BECAUSE IT’S GOING TO BE AMAZING. BUT WE HAVE TO GET THROUGH THIS EVENING. FIRST LINE OF STORMS FROM 7:00 PM TO 11:00 PM, AND THESE STORMS CAN BE SEVERE. THE STRONGEST. THE BIGGEST THREAT: THE STRONGEST STORMS WILL ALSO BE IN OUR SOUTHERN COUNTIES, ESPECIALLY NEAR THE ILLINOIS BORDER. DESTRUCTIVE WIND IS THE BIGGEST RISK, BUT WE ALSO HAVE ALL THE OTHER RISKS THAT ARE EXISTING, INCLUDING THE POSSIBILITY OF A TORNADO OR TWO. THERE COULD BE HAIL AND WINDS AGAIN. THAT’S WHAT I’M CONCERNED ABOUT. THE POSSIBILITY OF HIGH WIND GUSTS, MAYBE WITH GUSTS OVER 70 MILES. YES, THAT WOULD DO DAMAGE. WE HAVE ALL THE INGREDIENTS. THEY HAD SUNSHINE, A LOT OF ENERGY IN THE ATMOSPHERE. THAT’S WHY. WE HAVE SPINNING, WE HAVE SOME WIND DISKS. WE HAVE THE TRIGGER WITH THE INCOMING FRONT AND WE CERTAINLY HAVE THE HIGH DEW POINTS, DEW POINTS JUST OVER 13 MILES. WE’RE AT LEVEL 4 ON OUR SEVERE HAZARD INDEX. SO WE DON’T GET HERE VERY OFTEN IN WISCONSIN. THIS IS TRUE FOR OUR SOUTHERN COUNTIES, ESPECIALLY KENOSHA AND WALWORTH COUNTIES. AND STILL PRETTY GOOD OPPORTUNITIES FOR SEVERE WEATHER IN THE REST OF SOUTHEAST WISCONSIN AS WELL. WE’RE REALLY KEEPING AN EYE ON THESE STORMS HERE. I’M ENCOURAGED AND HOPE WE DON’T SEE ANY FURTHER DEVELOPMENT HERE. AND IT’S GOING TO SCREAM JUST SOUTH OF US. NOT THAT I WANT PEOPLE IN ILLINOIS TO BE SURPRISED, BUT WE HAVE A LOT OF EXTRA PEOPLE IN TOWN OF COURSE, AND IT WOULD BE GREAT IF IT COULD STAY JUST FROM THE SOUTH, BUT IN OUR AREA REALLY, VERY CLOSE REALLY CLOSE REALLY. IT’S QUIET. BUT THAT’S PROBABLY GOING TO CHANGE WHEN WE DRIVE IN TONIGHT AT SEVEN, EIGHT, AND 9. THEN WE’LL PROBABLY SEE THESE STORMS MOVING TOWARDS SOUTHEAST WISCONSIN. EVEN AFTER THIS FIRST ROUND WE’LL STILL HAVE SOME RAIN AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS BUT THE SEVERE THREAT IS FROM 7 AM TO 11 AM. AND THEN IT WILL BE CALM. THE REST OF THE WEEK IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. I WANT EVERYONE TO ENJOY MILWAUKEE TO THE FULLEST. THE TEMPERATURES WILL BE COMFORTABLE. THE DEW POINT TEMPERATURES WILL DOWN SO IT FEELS SO MUCH NICER LIVE. LOOK OUTSIDE. THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE OUTSIDE IN THE HOT WEATHER. BUT THAT’S THE BEAUTIFUL THING ABOUT IT. THERE IS SHADE ON THIS SIDE OF FISERV AT THIS TIME OF DAY. TEMPERATURES ARE STILL HOT. LAKE TEMPERATURES ARE RISING TO 70. LOOK AT THOSE DEW POINTS RISING ABOVE 70. THE AIR IS SWEATY AND SOAPY EVERYWHERE. BUT THAT’S WHAT I’M WAITING FOR. WE’RE NOT GETTING THAT. WE’RE GONNA GET THAT. THAT’S WHAT A LOT OF YOU LIVING HERE IN WISCONSIN ARE WAITING FOR. WE CAN HAVE THE HUMIDITY, BUT IT DOESN’T USUALLY STAY FOR A LONG TIME. AND IT WILL. TOMORROW IS STILL A LITTLE HUMID. AS THE DAY GOES ON, IT’S GONNA BE LESS HUMID AND THEN IT’S REALLY NICE. WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. AND IN FACT, THIS IS THE NICEST SEVEN DAY FORECAST FOR THE WEEKEND AHEAD THAT I’VE EVER HAD ALL SUMMER. SO WE HAVE TO GET THROUGH THIS EVENING AND THEN WE’LL HAVE SEVEN DAYS IN A ROW WITHOUT A SMALL THUNDERSTORM SYMBOL, WITHOUT A REALLY GOOD CHANCE OF RAIN. HOW WOULD THAT BE? AND NOT NEARLY AS SWEATY. SO WE’LL GO FROM THE 80S TO THE 70S AND STAY IN THE 80S AS WE GO INTO THIS WEEKEND. IT’S GOING TO BE VERY COMFORTABLE FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK AND A NICE TRIP
