Man dies in shooting in Russell district

According to Louisville Metro Police, a man is dead following a shooting early Wednesday morning in the Russell neighborhood. Officers from LMPD’s First Division were called to a shooting on South 26th Street at the corner of West Chestnut Street at around 3:17 a.m. When they arrived, police found a man who had been shot. EMS arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene. No suspects are known at this time and the LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating. The emergency services arrived and confirmed his death at the scene of the accident.
