Police ram cow THREE TIMES in horror video; investigations ongoing

A cow was hit three times by police cars, according to witnesses. A video shows the calf surrounded by three police cars while stuck under one of them in Feltham, west London.

Citizens can be heard pleading with officers to release the animal on Raleigh Road. A man can be heard shouting, “It’s not hurting any of us,” as he is led away from the scene.

Davinder Kaur, 49, said the animal managed to break free but was then chased by the police car and rammed a third time. Davinder said: “I’m not sure if you can see it clearly on the video, but after the calf got up and tried to run away, the police car chased it around the corner again and rammed it again.

“She was obscured by a tree but you can hear the impact on the video. We were told the cow ran off and was wandering around Surrey and the A30 for two to three hours.

“We were always told it was a calf – apparently no more than two years old. We never got close enough to determine the cow’s age, but she was definitely not an adult animal.”

The frightened animal is said to have escaped from a nearby field and caused traffic disruptions on the town’s roads. Witnesses report that officers tried to calm the animal for several hours, but then decided to ram the uncontrollable animal around 11 p.m.

In the footage, the officer appeared to line up his car so that the cow would end up in the middle of the road before hitting it at high speed. As the animal thrashes around in the road and tries to get up, the unnamed officer strikes the animal again, trapping its head under the bumper.

Following a public rebuke from Home Secretary James Cleverly, police have promised an investigation – Image credit:Davinder Kaur / SWNS

In response to the footage of X, Home Secretary James Cleverly described the incident as “unnecessary”. In a post he tweeted: “I can think of no reasonable justification for this action. I have asked for a full, urgent explanation for this. It seems the action is unnecessarily harsh.”

Police said the cow was taken to a nearby farm with the assistance of a citizen. The owner was located and the cow’s injuries were examined by a veterinarian.

Surrey Police Chief Constable Sam Adcock said: “I know this has caused concern and I would like to thank the public for their concern. The decision to use the police car was only made after other methods of stopping the cow had failed. The actions leading up to this are being investigated but our focus is always on ensuring the safety of the public.

“I know there are videos circulating of this incident that the public may find disturbing. I would ask that these videos be sent directly to us so we can assist in our investigation.”
