Person arrested after leading Virginia police on a chase into DC in a stolen car

A person was arrested Thursday evening after leading Virginia State Police on a chase in a stolen car on I-395.

At approximately 6:53 p.m., a police officer noticed a stolen vehicle traveling north on I-395.

When the officer turned on his vehicle’s hazard lights and siren, the Toyota Prius refused to stop and instead sped away, officials said.

Officials said a pursuit was initiated and the stolen vehicle crossed the border into Washington, D.C., where the driver was taken into custody by police.

Virginia State Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident involving the Toyota as it fled from the police officer. The Toyota crashed into a Ford, but there were no injuries, officials said.

This incident remains under investigation and charges are pending.
