Sean “Diddy” Combs is under federal investigation in New York

Sean “Diddy” Combs is currently under federal criminal investigation, NBC News reported, citing two sources familiar with Combs’ ongoing legal troubles.

The same sources confirmed that a grand jury in the Southern District of New York is reviewing evidence as part of the investigation. No details have been leaked about what is being investigated.

A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office declined to comment. Combs’ attorneys did not respond to a request for comment.

NBC defined Combs’ status as a subject of investigation as “someone who legal experts say is under investigation in a criminal investigation. A person is designated a target when prosecutors are likely to intend to seek a grand jury indictment against the person.”

There are no signs that anything is imminent, NBC reported, adding that Combs has not received an address letter, the sources said. The Southern District of New York is not required to send such a letter.

This news comes three months after police raided Combs’ homes in Los Angeles and Miami.

Combs has been under fire for at least seven months. Several women have come forward with allegations of sexual harassment. In May, a video surfaced that CNN has obtained, showing him hitting his then-girlfriend Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel in 2016.

Combs settled a lawsuit filed by Ventura in federal court last November. The two reached an agreement the day after the lawsuit was filed.

Combs also had his degree revoked by Howard University, had a reality project canceled by Hulu, and divested himself of his stake in his former company, Revolt.
