Center Point firefighter killed in Blount County accident

BLOUNT COUNTY, Alabama (WIAT) – A firefighter from Hoover and Center Point was killed in a motorcycle accident Tuesday evening, according to Chris Horn, spokesman for the Center Point Fire District.

Justin King, 23, of Cleveland was killed when his Harley-Davidson motorcycle went off the road and struck a utility pole around 8 p.m., according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. After the impact, King was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident occurred on US 31 near Church Street. ALEA is investigating.
