Student arrested following riots at Konawaena High School

Police arrested a 19-year-old student after a disturbance at Konawaena High School on Tuesday.

Kalani Piko of Captain Cook was charged with disorderly conduct.

Officers responded to a violent call at the school around 11:14 a.m. Piko was reportedly on campus before the officer arrived and was yelling at school staff and using profanities.

The school was placed on lockdown until the incident could be resolved.

The officers repeatedly asked Piko to leave the school grounds before arresting him. The school lockdown was lifted after police removed Piko from campus.

Piko was released from police custody after posting $100 bail.
