3 men robbed store in Ridley Twp. and shot witnesses in parking lot – NBC10 Philadelphia

Police in Ridley Township are investigating after three men allegedly robbed a discount store and fired several shots at a witness before leading police on a chase that ended in Philadelphia.

According to police, the incident occurred around 9:17 p.m. on Wednesday after officers were called to an armed robbery at a Family Dollar store. At that location, police officials said, officers learned that three men had entered the store and demanded cash from employees at gunpoint.

According to officials, the men stole large amounts of cash and cigarettes before fleeing the store.

However, when they arrived at the parking lot, the three men raised their firearms and shot a witness several times, according to police.

The witness was not hit, police said, and the shooters drove away in a gray sedan toward the city of Philadelphia.

Officers pursued the vehicle, and when it reached the intersection of 65th Street and Cobbs Creek Parkway in southwest Philadelphia, it came to a stop and the three men attempted to flee on foot.

Police officials said officers managed to arrest one of the men and allegedly found cash and cigarettes on him that were believed to have been stolen during the robbery.

According to police, officers also recovered a stolen firearm. In the vehicle abandoned by the men, they found cash, coins and cigarettes “scattered throughout the vehicle.”

Police are still searching for the other two men believed to be involved in the incident and the investigation is ongoing, officials said.

Ridley Township Police are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call Ridley Township Detectives at 610-532-4000.
