Child shot dead in Magnolia district

SEATTLE – Seattle Police Department Homicide Detectives are investigating the death of a child who was shot in the Magnolia neighborhood.

The shooting happened in the 3000 block of 21st Ave on Wednesday around 6:30 p.m. W, west of the Interbay Athletic Complex.

When officers arrived, a woman said her child had been shot.

The child was pronounced dead at the scene.

Part of 23rd Ave. West was suspended pending the investigation. A FOX 13 reporter on scene reported another possible scene on 20th Ave. W and W Dravus St.

Two people were arrested by Seattle Police and are currently being questioned.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are currently under investigation and further information will be released as it becomes available.
