Two people arrested in connection with the 2022 murder of a Kalamazoo man | WKZO | Everything about Kalamazoo

VAN BUREN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – An investigation by the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department and Michigan State Police has resulted in two arrests in connection with the death of a Kalamazoo man more than 20 months ago.

The body of 33-year-old Lashaun Keith was found in a field in Geneva Township in Van Buren County on November 3, 2022. Investigators determined that Keith was attacked and killed in Kalamazoo County and his body was subsequently transported to Van Buren County, where it was later found.

According to Michigan State Police on Tuesday, a thorough investigation ultimately identified two suspects. A copy of the final report, including forensic evidence, was reviewed by the Kalamazoo County District Attorney’s Office, which approved and issued arrest warrants for both suspects.

29-year-old Bryan Christopher Wimbley of Hartford was arrested for murder. 22-year-old Zachary Stephen Trainor of Watervliet was arrested for murder and disposal of a body without a forensic license.

Both men were arraigned in Kalamazoo’s 8th District Court and remain in the Kalamazoo County Jail.
