Arrest after three-week investigation for assault

GLYNN COUNTY, Georgia (WSAV) – The Glynn County Police Department (GCPD) has arrested a man following a three-week assault investigation.

According to GCPD, the robbery occurred on May 25 at the Sunoco gas station at 2764 Highway 17 South. The robbery left a man unconscious and seriously injured.


The victim was preparing to fill his vehicle with gas for the trip to Florida when he was attacked, suffering broken bones in his face and a broken nose, as well as injuries that required six stitches above his eye.

The GCPD Major Crimes Unit launched an investigation and identified the attacker as Corey Burnett of Glynn County.

On June 21, Burnett was arrested and booked into the Glynn County Detention Center on aggravated assault charges.
