Houston City Comptroller Approves HFD Payment Agreement | NewsRadio 740 KTRH

For the first time in nearly a decade, the Houston Fire Department has now signed a new collective agreement with the City of Houston. City Comptroller Chris Hollins sent a memo approving the new agreement to the Houston City Council Monday evening.

The memo reads in part: “After careful review and evaluation of the responses to each question posed by my office to the Mayor and his team regarding the proposed fire regulations and collective bargaining agreement, my office has approved the relevant items for your consideration on the Council Agenda.

On Tuesday morning, a spokesperson for the mayor’s office confirmed the deal had been certified, but said the agreement was technically not official until the City Council voted to approve it.
