New Delhi (India), September 14 (ANI): Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) MP from Bihar’s Samastipur, Prince Raj, has been booked on suspicion of raping a girl.

Prince, who is also the party’s Bihar chapter president, was arrested in the capital on August 9 on charges of raping a former party member.

The FIR was registered on the orders of a Delhi court nearly three months after the victim filed a complaint with the Delhi Police.

Raj met the victim, who also joined the party in 2019, for the first time in January 2020.

According to police, the two met at Western Court, Janpath, Delhi, where Raj allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted the victim, made a video of the act and threatened her.

Raj then started visiting the victim’s house regularly. Sensing the victim’s efforts to escape from the forced relationship, he threatened her, the FIR copy states.

According to the FIR, the victim also met senior party leader Chirag Paswan and informed him about the issue. Paswan also assured her that the entire matter would be sorted out and she was persuaded not to file a complaint. No further action was taken, the victim claimed in the FIR.

Later in February 2020, after the victim left the party, Raj filed an FIR against the complainant. He illegally detained the victim for over 14 hours and, in collusion with the police, falsified all available evidence against him, the complaint states.

In May 2021, the victim filed a complaint at Parliament Street police station in New Delhi. When a Delhi court found that the police were not taking any action, it issued directions to the police station and an FIR was registered. (ANI)
