Welding accident leads to garage fire in Champaign

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) – A welding project led to a garage fire in Champaign on Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters arrived at a home near North Harris Avenue and Alabama Avenue around 1:30 p.m. After a welding accident, the detached garage caught fire.


Officials said the inmate suffered minor injuries in the incident and did not go to the hospital.
