Knoxville Police patrol car hit during traffic stop on I-40 East

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – A traffic stop ended in a multi-vehicle crash on I-40 East after a Knoxville Police Department patrol car was struck.

Knoxville police said officers were conducting a traffic stop on I-40 East when the rear of the patrol car was struck. A Knoxville police spokesperson said the driver may have been having a medical emergency when the collision occurred.

According to KPD, those involved in the incident reported minor injuries.
