Disneyland employee dies: An employee (identified as Bonnye Mavis Lear) died in a golf cart accident behind the scenes at the theme park

ANAHEIM, California – A Disneyland employee died when she fell from a moving golf cart in the backstage area of ​​the Southern California theme park, authorities said Saturday.

According to the Orange County Coroner’s Office, the woman was identified as Bonnye Mavis Lear of Fullerton.

Anaheim Police Sergeant Jon McClintock said authorities were called to the Disneyland Resort Wednesday morning after a woman fell from a moving golf cart and hit her head.

She was taken to the hospital and died of her injuries on Friday, McClintock said in a statement.

Ken Potrock, president of Disneyland Resort, expressed his condolences and said the company is focused on supporting her family and colleagues.

“We are heartbroken by the loss of Bonnye and would like to extend our sincere condolences to everyone who cared for her. Right now, our focus is supporting her family and our cast members through this tragic event and making sure they have the resources they need.”

Lear was a cast member at the Disneyland Resort for 24 years and most recently assisted with member services at Club 33.
