Suspect arrested in fatal shooting at One17 SofaBar in Greensboro in Phoenix, Arizona, Greensboro police say

GREENSBORO, NC (WGHP) — A man charged with first-degree murder after a fatal shooting in Greensboro earlier this year was arrested in Arizona on Friday and is awaiting extradition to North Carolina, according to a Greensboro police news release.

On February 25, at approximately 2:07 a.m., police, firefighters and emergency medical services responded to the 100 block of North Greene Street after receiving a report of a shooting.


Two people with gunshot wounds were found and taken to a local hospital.

Devonte Jamaal Stephenson, 24, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The second victim is said to be in critical condition.

On Friday, 27-year-old Michal Michael Tyrone Styles was arrested in Phoenix, Arizona on a warrant for first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury.

Styles is being held in Phoenix awaiting extradition to North Carolina.

Investigators determined that a fight had broken out in front of the One17 SofaBar, which led to the shooting.
