Motorcyclist dies after accident in Woodland Hills on Freeway 101 near De Soto Avenue

WOODLAND HILLS, CA (June 5, 2024) – A woman in her 30s died in a motorcycle crash on the 101 Freeway Tuesday evening.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the incident occurred on June 4 around 5:00 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a motorcyclist was involved in an accident near the De Soto Avenue exit.

Investigators believe that a second vehicle hit the motorcyclist after the first collision.

Rescue workers found the victim lying unconscious on the ground. Rescue workers later pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Authorities did not release the victim’s identity until next of kin were notified.

The California Highway Patrol has closed all but one lane of the eastbound 101 Freeway near Topanga Canyon Boulevard.

CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Officials will release additional information as it becomes available.
