Two people arrested Tuesday in connection with car hijacking incident – ​​Muddy River News

QUINCY – Two Quincy residents were recently arrested in connection with a carjacking incident.

On May 31 at 1:26 p.m., Quincy Police received a report of an incident that occurred in the area of ​​11th and Vermont in Quincy. The investigation led to the identification of a suspected suspect. Subsequently, the Adams County District Attorney’s Office requested an arrest warrant for Arthur D. Clay Jr., 39, for grand theft auto, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and domestic violence.

Officers with the Quincy Police Department, including members of the Special Investigations Unit, located the stolen vehicle near 12th and Hampshire in Quincy at 4:33 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4. Occupants of the stolen vehicle included Clay and Joanna C. Burton, who were arrested.

Clay was arrested on the above charges and is being held in the Adams County Jail pending his court date. Burton was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle and possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine. She was issued summonses and later released pending a court date.
