Man arrested for arson in Madera

MADERA, Calif. (FOX26) — A man is behind bars for allegedly setting a grass fire in Madera on Saturday.

Madera Police and Fire Departments were called to a grass fire on Clinton Avenue and Tozer Road.

When officers arrived, they received information from witnesses describing the suspect who set the fire.

The suspect was identified as Jason Steven Kintop.

Shortly after firefighters contained the fire, officers found Kintop in Millview Park near the scene of the fire.

According to police, he tried to escape but was caught by officers.

He was arrested for arson.
