18-year-old arrested for multiple bank robberies in North Seattle – KIRO 7 News Seattle

SEATTLE – Detectives with the Seattle Police Department have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with a series of nine bank robberies in Seattle.

In April, Seattle police worked with the FBI to identify a suspect wanted in a series of robberies in North Seattle.

During these robberies, the suspect was observed going into banks and handing threatening letters to the cashiers demanding money.

Shortly before 5 p.m. on April 22, a suspect handed a note to a bank teller in the Wallingford neighborhood. The suspect left the bank empty-handed.

About an hour later, a suspect handed a note to a bank in the Wedgewood Neighborhood. This time, the suspect actually received cash. Police say he fled on foot.

After an investigation, detectives received an anonymous tip identifying the suspect.

Search warrants were executed and evidence was seized, including a loaded pistol.

On May 19, at approximately 7 p.m., officers found and arrested the 18-year-old in the 12500 block of 27th Avenue Northeast.

He was booked into the King County Jail on nine counts of robbery.
