Investigators say officers were called to the 1200 block of N. Parker Drive on May 27 just before 8:30 p.m. for a disturbance incident. When they arrived, they found Tito, a 4-5 year old Chihuahua, suffering from severe injuries. The dog was immediately taken to an emergency vet where he succumbed to his injuries.

Officers said they learned Geffers was involved in another incident in Illinois before arriving in Janesville. Police said Geffers became upset in the apartment and allegedly threw the dog against the wall, causing the animal to sustain injuries.

Geffers was arrested in Beloit and is currently in the Rock County Jail.
